Theatrical Poetry: Actions, Dance, and Striptease. Two days celebrating the works of Joan Brossa

The Centre for Catalan Studies at Queen Mary University London and La Seca Espai Brossa, in collaboration with  Fundació Joan Brossa, and Pocio (Poesia i Acció), and with the support of Institute Ramon Llull, have organised a two-day event in celebration of the works of Joan Brossa, Catalan poet, playwriter and visual artist.

 
 




Poets, academics, actors and performers, magicians, musicians and directors together celebrating the work of Catalan poet and visual artist Joan Brossa in this two-day event.

 

Over two days (23-24 May 2018), English-speaking audiences will, for the first time, have the opportunity to find out more about the theatre and performance art of Joan Brossa (1919-1998).

Known internationally as an avant-garde artist who collaborated with Miró and Tàpies, Brossa also wrote many plays, musical actions, dance pieces and striptease scenarios.

Join us for talks, workshops and performances, with experts, directors and performers from around the world.

Participants include: Emily Mast (USA), Jonathan Allen (UK), Hari Marini (Greece), and (from Catalonia, Spain), Laura Pau, Adrià Aubert, Jordi Oriol and Carles Pedragosa.
